As Madison County's first winery, I am pleased to announce we will be opening our doors on Thursday, June 13, 2013!
Our 57 acre farm and winery includes a state of the art building which houses our rustic chic tasting room and wine production. Within the vineyard we have built an amphitheater and an event center with an adjoining tented facility and pergola space. We have twelve new Owera teammates that have joined our family legacy project. We look forward to welcoming you for tastings, informative tours and memorable events.
Our vineyard leader Ruby the hummingbird proudly represents the family legacy on our wine labels, she stands tall on our production building and gives all a Viva Ruby Time!

Once you enter the long, winding road to the barn/tasting center you will feel all your stress disintegrate as you pass by ponds, apple trees, vines, and an organic garden. Once inside the barn, it's not all about the wine, but about the entire experience for your visit."

Our Vineyards
Our vineyard consists of 4 acres and is a combination of Minnesota cold hearty varietals Frontenac Gris (think Riesling with pineapple overtones) and Marquette (a clone of Pinot Noir). We chose to plant these specific grapes in the Summer of 2008 for one very important reason. Unlike our good friends in the Finger Lakes, we do not have the luxury of having deep lakes and prevailing southeast wind of Lake Ontario to create an insulating microclimate. Cazenovia sits approximately 1,450 feet above sea level and the lake is very shallow (only 65 feet) in comparison to other nearby lakes. In other words, we planted grapes that are rated down to (-40F) below to insulate ourselves from the cold evenings and frost.
RESERVATIONS
Groups of 10 or more are required to have a reservation. Groups arriving without a reservation may experience a wait.
The following information is required for a reservation:
- Arrival time
- Number of people in group
- Name of group organizer
- Phone and email of organizer
- Limo or bus service providing transportation
- Credit card and expiration date
Notes about Reservations:
- Reservations are not accepted without a credit card number.
- No call, no show reservations will be charged $8 per person/reserved. If you are unable to make your reservation, please call and you will not be charged.
- Tasting space is not private.
- The cardholder is responsible for the group, including (but not limited to) damage to the property, theft, and behavior.
- Intoxicated persons will not be served and groups with intoxicated members may be asked to leave.
- All members of the party must be 21 years of age and have valid identification. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. If anyone in the group is under 21 without a parent or legal guardian, or presents false identification, the entire group will be asked to leave without tasting.
- If your group is more than 15 minutes late we may not be able to guarantee space for tasting. Please call and notify us if you have a delay so that we may attempt to make accommodations for your group.
- Only Owera Vineyards wine or alcohol provided by Owera is permitted on the property.

A blend of several varieties, it features fruit-filled aromas and crisp acidity.

This blend of barrel fermented and stainless steel fermented Chardonnay features toasty aromas and flavors of pineapple, vanilla and coconut. RS .7%
2011 Dry Riesling *Double Gold* $16

Owahgena White *Silver Medal* $14
Finished medium-dry, this wine is the perfect food wine. It is a blend of Riesling, Cayuga White and Chardonnay. RS 1.0%

Ripened pineapple, hints of mango and citrus undertones highlight this wine’s profile. It has beautiful balance, good viscosity and is held together by an acidic backbone. RS 2.0%

Harvest
Harvest is a very special time at Owera. Each fall, we encourage the community to come out and help us celebrate harvesting the grapes. We even encourage kids to stomp grapes with their feet.

Owera Gives Back
In addition to growing grapes and apples on our farm in Cazenovia, we have a beautiful and rather large organic garden on our 57 acre farm in Cazenovia. We grow garlic, asparagus, tomatoes, sugar snap peas, corn, peppers, herbs and sunflowers....but we get a little carried away! Each harvest season, we have plenty of produce, so what isn't consumed by family, friends, and employees, we donate to a couple of different food pantries in the area. A couple of years ago, we donated bushel baskets of tomatoes to the Downtown Food Pantry and one of the volunteers told me that a gentleman came in and said "I haven't had a fresh tomato in 10 years!"

Shipping Policy
In order to ship and track merchandise, we make your name and address available to such companies as United Parcel Service. In no instance are these business affiliates allowed to use your personal information for any other purpose. A person 21 years of age or older must be present to sign for shipments of alcoholic beverages. Items usually arrive within 7-10 business days.
Return Policy
If you are not completely satisfied with any item you buy from us, at any time during your use of it, return it along with the receipt of purchase and we will refund your full purchase price. Please contact us for return instructions.
